With gratitude and respect, we remember Marian Wynn, who passed away at 99, one of the remaining women known as the Rosies of World War II.

During the war, Marian worked at the Kaiser Shipyards as a pipe welder, helping build the ships that carried troops and supplies across dangerous waters. In factories filled with noise, heat, and long hours, she and countless other women stepped forward to support the nation’s effort on the Home Front.

Her generation did more than fill empty jobs while men were overseas. They reshaped expectations, proving that skill, strength, and determination have no boundaries. Their work helped open doors for women in industries that had once been closed to them.

Marian Wynn’s life is a reminder that service takes many forms. Through steady hands and quiet resolve, she helped build more than ships. She helped build opportunity for those who followed.

We honor her contribution, her resilience, and the legacy she leaves behind.
